Let us remember the times when there were so many people who were heroes, including the generals, other officers, and soldiers who refused to shoot at their fellow Filipinos in EDSA. Remember that by doing so, they disobeyed the chain-of-command, and risked their careers. But they were following a higher law – the law of God. Ang pagnanakaw sa kaban ng bayan (ill-gotten wealth) ay hindi kasalanan sa mga indibidwal na Kristiyano bilang Kristiyano, kundi sa Republic of the Philippines, the corporate entity trying to recover the ill-gotten wealth; the People of the Philippines whose criminal laws were violated; ang mga mahihirap na napagkaitan ng benefits of the money that was stolen; and the taxpayers who will continue to shoulder the loans that the Marcos government incurred dahil nilimas niya ang treasury ng bayan.
