Ang pagnanakaw sa kaban ng bayan (ill-gotten wealth) ay hindi kasalanan sa mga indibidwal na Kristiyano bilang Kristiyano, kundi sa Republic of the Philippines, the corporate entity trying to recover the ill-gotten wealth; the People of the Philippines whose criminal laws were violated; ang mga mahihirap na napagkaitan ng benefits of the money that was stolen; and the taxpayers who will continue to shoulder the loans that the Marcos government incurred dahil nilimas niya ang treasury ng bayan.

So ang weightier matter sa churches sa Pilipinas, na dapat pagtuunan ng pansin ayon kay Kristo, ay Justice, Mercy and Faith, in the context of a nation where there is so much poverty and corruption. At hindi tayo dapat malula sa laki ng problema, sapagkat naririyan at palagi nga nating kasama si Kristo habang tinuturo natin ang mga katuruan Niya. Alalahanin ang pangako Niya: “(T)eaching them (the nations) to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).
